Haibatuna: Asian Journal of Islamic Law Development (AJILD) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarly discussions on the development, transformation, and contemporary challenges of Islamic law across Asia. The journal serves as an international platform for researchers, academics, legal practitioners, policymakers, and postgraduate students to explore the dynamic interaction between Islamic legal traditions and the social, cultural, political, and technological changes occurring within Asian societies.
AJILD publishes original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and case studies that examine various aspects of Islamic law, including but not limited to Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), legal theory (uṣūl al-fiqh), Islamic family law, Islamic criminal law, Islamic economic and financial law, constitutional issues, human rights, legal pluralism, comparative law, contemporary fatwa studies, and the implementation of Shariah within diverse legal systems across Asia.
The journal particularly welcomes interdisciplinary and comparative studies that investigate the evolution of Islamic law in response to globalization, digital transformation, social change, environmental challenges, gender issues, and emerging legal questions. By promoting rigorous academic inquiry and cross-national perspectives, AJILD seeks to contribute to the enrichment of Islamic legal scholarship and to foster intellectual dialogue among scholars from different countries and legal traditions.
Published regularly and adhering to international standards of academic publishing and research ethics, the Haibatuna: Asian Journal of Islamic Law Development aims to become a leading reference for the study of Islamic law and its development in the Asian context.
